Lip makeup is integral to all beauty styles... whether you are a minimalist, naturalist, diva, glam...or goth, in your beauty style.  Whether you have a little bit or a lot of makeup, you all at the very least, have lip stuff.  It tends to be the first makeup we ever buy and the stuff we buy the most of through our lives.
