Luminizer, highlighter, glitter, and shimmer makeup are generally designed to heighten dimension, produce radiance and create more dramatic, glamorous effects.

How?
This type of makeup has varying degrees of light catching properties that reflect light and can produce a range of effects from a subtle glow to sparkling....Shimmer makeup comes in a wide range of formats too; liquid, powder, cream and even shaker dispensers.

Here are a few product examples to help you understand more specifically, what makeup task they perform. The types are sorted into four sub groups and listed from lowest key to highest dramatice impact.

Luminizer

Low key style-acts to brighten complexions, even skin tones, create glow and deliver flawless radiance.

Shimmer

Shimmer most often contains light reflecting particles to create low key 'sparkle.

Highlighter

Application: There really are no 'rules' per say when it comes to shimmer makeup...really more a matter of comfort zone and personal style. It is best to follow individual product directions. If there is no application tool, use clean fingers and apply in small amounts at a time.  One more thing, when it comes to glitter and shimmer makeup , experimenting prior to a big night out is always a good idea.
